With the purchase of every PrintDry filament dryer you will receive two FREE gifts inside. First it an additional top feeder for the top chamber, so that you filament will easily turn and help with feeding the filament directly to your printer.
Second is two (2) FREE D-Spools. These D-spools feature a open top and bottom and allows the filament dryer to reach more of the filament on the roll. This is important especially in longer prints. You can un-spool the filament from the manufacturers spool and wind it onto one of your FREE D-spools. We have created a Re-spooling station and have this offered on our website for purchase.
Below is a detailed description on how to assemble the D-Spools. Please refer to the D_spool_assembly highlighted below.
Contains: 2 large spools
3 center posts with large center hole
3 center posts with small center hole
6 screws
Look at the large spools. One side with have an indentation where a screw will go, this is considered the outside of the spool.
The inside of the spool will have three short raised posts which will accept the center posts with the large center holes.
TO ASSEMBLE
Place a screw though the outside opening and attach the center posts with the small holes. Do this on one spool only. Total of 3 posts and 3 screws

Lay the spool on a flat surface with the center posts pointing up. Slide on the center posts with the larger center hole on the raised post. There should now be 6 center posts sticking upwards.
Align the second large spool so that the center posts with the large posts line up with the raised posts on the inside of the second large spool.
Align the remaining three center posts with the holes that will accept screws. Tighten all three posts with the remaining 3 screws.
Your D- spool is now completed and the center posts should be parallel with the other side
Repeat steps above to assemble the second D-spool that is included with your filament dryer.
We have been asked by customers just like you, how do we store our 3D filaments once they have been dried with our PrintDry filament dryer. Good question!
Since you have taken the time to dry your filaments with our filament dryer it only makes sense to now store them in a way that not only will protect them but keep them as dry as possible so that when you go to use them next time, they will be ready to go and not need to be dried again.
Like most printing labs we tried a variety of different means of keeping our dried filaments protected. We used large zip lock bags, and those work, but we found with everyday use,
they developed small rips most time near the zipper, or the person did not close the bag correctly and the moisturized air seeped back into the bag and then the filament.
So we tried large plastic storage containers to keep more than one spool of filament in at a time. Now this seemed to work, but with our busy printing lab, we found that we were opening and closing the storage containers often to either return one spool for storage or getting another one out for a print job.
We soon discovered that only after a few opening and closing of the lid, the moisturized air in our printing lab had invaded the container and now was the same humidity as the air outside the storage container.
So, faced with an issue, PrintDry designed a airtight sealed storage container that held just one spool. It was made with a see-though plastic, so you did not have to open the container to see what inside, or how much was left on the spool.
We even designed them so that when the containers were not being used, they neatly stored inside each other and took up very little storage space.
We introduced these storage containers on a Kickstarter online promotional campaign and we amazed by the response we received. In less that the first 24 hours of our campaign going online, we met our set goal and by the end of the campaign we had 476 backers and raised just shy of $60,000 USD in pre-order sales.

PrintDry was developed out of solution that we were experiencing in house with our own 3D printing of foot orthotics and AFO’s (ankle foot orthotics). Our owner re-designed a common house hold kitchen appliance, making the compartments deeper to accept a 1KG spool of 3D printing filament and the opportunity to feed the dried filament directly from the spool to the 3D printer. He even added in a ball bearing top feeder to keep the spool spinning off filament as the printer needs it. He added a second chamber on top so that one of filament dryer can feed to two different printers at once.
We released it to the public in an online Kickstarter campaign in 2016 and the 3D printing community responded with a very supportive 310 backers and just shy of $42,000 USD in pre-order sales.
To this date our filament dryer is sold globally and is our best-selling product.
